A Sikhi-based political-economic philosophy that promotes both spiritual and political liberty. Encompassing minarchist and anarchist positions, Azadism is a libertarian (as opposed to authoritarian) framework that advocates limiting the size and scope of Government (a taxing authority) in a society. Economic activity operates on a free and fair market basis, where transactions occur voluntarily between consenting participants. A society becomes more Azaad the more the Government is minimised and replaced by voluntary, decentralised mechanisms rooted in the same market logic. Within this framework, people are free to establish their own experiments in statecraft (Stanistan) and it is the duty of Misls (service providers for security and justice) to resolve disputes, and ensure that all individuals are free to pursue their own interests provided it does not impede the right for others to do the same. This includes the pursuit of spiritual liberation, in peace, free from tyranny.
